Jeff Hawkins, co-founder, chairman and chief product officer of Handspring, Inc., demonstrated the update to the already popular Handspring Digital Camera at the Demo 2001 conference yesterday.
The eyemodule 2 connects with a Handspring Visor via the Springboard slot. The eyemodule will allow the Visor user to take full VGA pictures for realistic photo printing from a computer. The latest version will also take screen-sized snapshots saved in a compact format to conserve memory on the handheld, or take "Mini-Movie" video clips.
Bundled together with the eyemodule 2 will be the eyecontact software which allows a user to store a picture along with an addressbook entry. When you meet someone you can enter their information into your Visor and snap a quick photo of them using the eyemodule to store along with their address and phone numbers.
