HillCast Technologies' has made availabile MidCast, a financial application that streams continuous, real-time financial market information to Microsoft Pocket PC and Windows Powered Smartphone devices.

HillCast said MidCast streams secure financial data to the devices in real time, based on the stock symbols requested by the user. Users can choose the format for the information about the stocks they follow, including Level II data and real-time plot charts, which adjust dynamically as the market fluctuates.

MidCast's existing financial information includes stock prices, price changes, volumes, sizes of last trades, highs, lows, the day's open, the prior day's close, bids and asks, the listed exchange of the last trade and the time the last trade went through. Features slated to be added in future versions include news, secure online trading, personal portfolio management, currency data and alerts.

According to HillCast, financial institutions are looking at MidCast on mobile devices like the Pocket PC because it provides an increased level of activity for its existing customers and advisors-- better information continuously provided on a more timely basis leads to more transactions and more revenues--and a means to gain and keep new clients.

MidCast will initially be available for a one-time fee of $49.95. MidCast technology also runs on Java phones, RIM BlacBlackberry, and Palm OS devices.
