By Visor Village Staff Handspring, Inc. has announced new pricing on its grayscale Treo 180 and 180g communicators first released earlier this year. While supplies last, customers can purchase a Treo 180 for $249 when they sign up for a service contract from T-Mobile or Cingular. Treo 180 combines a GSM mobile phone, a Palm OS organizer, wireless email, Internet access and text messaging in one device. The 180 comes with a built-in QWERTY keyboard that enables people to use the device with one hand while also providing an alternative to graffiti. The 180g has a Graffiti writing area. Other features of the device include Instant Lookup of phone numbers and contacts, 50 speed dials, a traditional dial pad on the keyboard, call log, easy three-way calling, caller ID and speakerphone. It is a dual-band GSM world phone that can roam internationally. Treo has 16MB of memory and also includes Handspring's Blazer Web browser, a rechargeable lithium ion battery, a travel charger with HotSync cable, and a headset for hands-free phone use. The Treo 180 and 180g can also be purchased for an unsubsidized price of $449 without service activation. Related Links:
