Karrier Communications, a software company specilaizing in sports applicaions, mobile golfing scorecard, IntelliGolf, has been released for Handspring's series of Treo Communicator smartphones.

Accoring to the company, IntelliGolf for the Treo ($39.95) is optimized for the Handspring smartphones, allowing wireless access to what it claims is the largest international scorecard database in the world. At the golf course, Treo users can wirelessly download the course's digital scorecard directly into their Treo. This obviates the need to manually enter each hole's yardage, par rating, handicap value, slope and course rating.

IntelliGolf includes what Karrier Communications calls six S's of golf: scoring, statistics, sidegames, shot tracking, over 16,000 signature courses and sharing of information between handhelds. The IntelliGolf scorecard software replaces pencil and paper golf scoring, wagering and statistics-gathering. Users enter their scores, wagers and basic statistics on Treo handhelds while they are on the golf course. IntelliGolf will total their final scores, tabulate all wagers and synchronize with the included Windows desktop software for viewing performance graphs and trends.
