By James Miller
Communication Intelligence Corporation (CIC) and Handspring have signed a licensing and co-marketing agreement whereby any Handspring Treo customer can download RecoEcho Plus, CIC's handwriting recognition software application for free. Handspring said it would bundle RecoEcho Plus from CIC for use on its full line of Treo communicators and organizers. With RecoEcho Plus, Treo users can alternatively choose between entering data through RecoEcho Plus or through the built-in QWERTY keyboard. Trial copies of CIC's Jot and WordComplet will also be available to new and existing Treo customers. Jot allows data input using a more natural printed letter method and WordComplete provides a shorthand style means of entering words from a pop-up pick list. We at Visor Village have been using both products for years and find them to be invaluable. Registered users of Handspring Treo communicators and organizers, including the Treo 300, Treo 270, Treo 180 and Treo 90 can download RecoEcho Plu from Handspring's website. Shipment within Handspring's retail packaging is expected before the end of the year. Related Links:
