By Visor Village Staff
Handspring is now offering Treo 180 communicators for the $99 after a mail in rebate. For a limited time, and only while supplies last, the company said customers who purchase a Treo 180 or 180g with a GPRS service contract from T-Mobile will be eligible to receive $150 through a mail-in rebate. The device cost close to $400 with service activation when it was first introduced earlier this year. In the meantime, the company has released two additional color editions in the Treo family, and the smartphone market has gotten more competitive with new Pocket PC-based devices, and is expected to become even more so with eagerly awaited product upgrades from Kyocera and Samsung, and the introduction of Palm's first smartphone, the Tungsten W, early next year. The $99 after rebate incentive on Treo 180 is exclusively available at Handspring's website. A GSM service contract from T-Mobile that includes a 10MB or higher GPRS data plan is required to qualify for the rebate. Treo communicators combine a mobile phone, Palm OS organizer, email, and web browsing into one device. It includes a built-in thumb operated keyboard. Related Links:
