SplashPhoto Image Viewer Gains Major Upgrade

SplashData, Inc. has announced a significant upgrade to SplashPhoto, its image viewer for Palm OS handhelds. The company said SplashPhoto 3.0 now includes support for high resolution displays (such as the Sony Clie), 12-bit displays (such as the Handspring Treo) and viewing of JPEG images stored on external memory cards.

According to SplashData, SplashPhoto displays digital images on a handheld as thumbnails, full screen images or in a slide show. Images may be cropped, enhanced and installed on the handheld using SplashPhoto Desktop, a desktop image editor for Windows and Mac OS. JPEG images may also be viewed directly from external memory cards, such as the Palm SD/MMC expansion card or Sony Clie Memory Stick. SplashData said SplashPhoto supports virtually all black/white and color Palm OS handhelds from Palm, Handspring, Sony, Kyocera, Samsung and others. Images may be displayed on Low Res (160x160), High Res (320x320) and High Res + (320x480) devices in 16-bit color, 12-bit color, 8-bit color or 4-bit grayscale.
