AT&T Wireless announced today it would offer IBM's Lotus email, personal information management, and instant messaging products on mobile devices with the creation of "AT&T Wireless Business Solutions for IBM."

AT&T Wireless Business Solutions for IBM is slated to include access to IBM Lotus Domino EveryPlace and Sametime EveryPlace, and be available in mid-February 2003. The company said the solution simplifies the configuration and deployment on AT&T Wireless' high-speed GSM/GPRS network and can be accessed on a variety of laptops, Pocket PC phones, and PDAs.

According to AT&T Wireless, AT&T Wireless Business Solutions for IBM include a "Communication Manager" and a "Quickstart" solution. The Communication Manager for IBM provides optimized and encrypted connections to Lotus Domino EveryPlace and Sametime EveryPlace. AT&T Wireless plans to build on this tool to provide enhanced provisioning throughout 2003. Quickstart is a package that provides wireless access for up to 20 employees within a two-week time frame.
