Mobility Electronics today announced Pitch Solo ($249.99), a presentation solution that allows users to display PowerPoint presentations using the Kyocera 7135 smartphone and a video projector.

After synchronizing PowerPoint slideshows to their Kyocera 7135 smartphones, users connect Pitch Solo via a USB cable to the smartphone and attach Pitch Solo to a video projector, video monitor or other VGA device. After downloading the presentation to Pitch Solo, users can detach the Kyocera 7135 smartphone and run their slideshows wirelessly via the smartphone's infrared port.

Two PS/2 ports and a second USB port on Pitch Solo allow the connection and use of a keyboard and mouse to navigate and input data to the Kyocera 7135. The company said users can view slides and notes on their Kyocera 7135 smartphones while presenting and, using the AC adapter provided with the Kyocera 7135 smartphone, the device will remain fully charged even after a lengthy presentation. In addition, because Pitch Solo leaves the Kyocera 7135 smartphone's expansion card slot free, Mobility Electronics said users can store multiple presentations and deliver larger, more complex slideshows.

Pitch Solo is powered by iGo's iPresent conversion software and a Pentium-class processor.

About the Kyocera 7135

The $500 Kyocera 7135 features clamshell design and CDMA2000 1X technology that enables data speeds of up to 153 kbps. The Kyocera 7135 also offers a high-resolution screen with 65,000 colors, Assisted GPS technology, and an expansion card slot compatible with both MultiMediaCard and SD card standards. An onboard MP3 player lets users download and listen to songs in CD-quality stereo sound, while a separate external display allows for caller-ID while the phone is "closed."
