By PocketPC City Staff
Intermec has started shipping its 700 Series Color family of devices with Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs. The latest 700 Series model, 760 Color, is the first enterprise Pocket PC mobile computer to offer integrated imager options to read 1D and 2D bar codes. It supports image capture applications, including signature capture. According to the company, the Intermec 760 is the first rugged Pocket PC mobile computer to support either Global Packet Ready Service (GPRS) or Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) 1xRTT connectivity. This allows users to make voice calls and access enterprise data wirelessly through high-speed packet data networks. The 760 is also the only PDA currently shipping that integrates up to three radio communication options in a single device, including a wireless local area (802.11b) radio, a GPRS or CDMA wide area network radio and a fully integrated power-managed Bluetooth radio in a single rugged package.
