Although Nokia's 9500 Communicator should ship from mobile operators within the next couple of months, those who can't wait to get their hands on the mobile phone giant's newest high-end smartphone can purchase the handset now from eXpansys USA.

The tri-band GSM/GPRS EDGE 9500 integrates 802.11b Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless networking. It also has two color displays that support up to 65,536 colors. The main screen—found on the top half of the mini-laptop like handset—sports a resolution of 640 x 200 pixels. Other features include a large thumb-keyboard and a VGA (640 x 480 pixel) digital camera.

eXpansys USA is selling the 9500 for a hefty $840. Brighthand reports there are currently fifteen 9500 Communicators listed as being in stock on the eXpansys website. That could change quickly, of course.

By purchasing the 9500 this way, keep in mind that you’ll be missing out on any rebates wireless carriers might offer.
