So, another wrinkle in the pricing story is Cingular's insistence that their Treo650 is only available if previous ATT Wireless users SWITCH to a new Cingular Monthly plan. In my case, that would mean $20 MORE per month, for 200 LESS minutes! Some deal huh? So, they told me that unless I switched, the Treo 650 was unavailable to me.Going over to PalmOne's site, you actually find THREE models of the Treo650 GSM:
1) Cingular Version (I think $449)
2) ATT Wireless AND Cingular version ($549 when I ordered)
3. Unlocked entirely (was $599, now $699)
I confirmed that the verison I bought would indeed work with my ATT Wireless service, and in fact, I simply slipped my SIM card in from my old GSM phone (a V600) and the Treo650 was a happy camper!
The best news: I get both worlds! IF I EVER CHANGE to a Cingular billing plan, the Treo650 will still keep working!
(I might have bought the unlocked version, but I really don't think I'm gonna switch to Tmobile or another GSM provider down the road....)
