WorldMate from Lod, Israel-based MobiMate is the Swiss Army Knife of mobile travel software. It delivers time, weather, currency conversion, and graphical day/night maps, plus flight schedules and real-time status updates. The software is so popular, it recently placed in the top ten for mobile retailer king Handango's Travel, Business & Professional, and Personal Productivity categories for the Palm, Windows Mobile Pocket PC, J2ME, RIM Blackberry, and Symbian UIQ, Series 60, and Series 80 environments. To coincide with CTIA Wireless 2005 in New Orleans this week, MobiMate released yet another version of WorldMate; this time for Microsoft's Windows Mobile Smartphone platform. Windows Smartphone's include handsets like Motorola's MPx220 & MPx200, Orange's SPV e200 & SPV C500, and the iMate SP. The new edition of WorldMate is the first to include high resolution, active weather maps with satellite and radar imagery, current temperatures, and precipitation forecasts.
