A bit late
Don't know why they ever changed the name in the first place... I think it hurt their image, and the business. Bad move! New isn't always better. I have owned Palms since before they got sued to remove "Pilot" from their name. Even though I have carried a Clie for the past 2 years, I still refer to it as my "Palm". Go figure?

Then some bozo goes and changes the name to PalmOne... who hired that person anyway?

Palm and the next ten years
I like palm. I like their products. How palm survives in the next ten years will in part depend on how its products intigrate with other devices. If you purchase some cars today, such as Lexus. The car kit for hands free operation, will not work with your treo 650 Bluetooth. I have been with palm for a long time. My car kit is forcing me away from palm. Only palm can fix this problem.

future mobile computing changes
while the is mostly only in appearance it do attain some significance because this is the final name and logo the palm, we hope, that palm will eventaully become wildly successful with or go down. Palm's status will not stay the same.It will either go drastically up or down.Palmsource obviously relies entirely on Palm.I think Palmsource should either combine with Palm again or get Sony back.As soon as more people find out more about portable computing, where the real future of computing is Palm will fly off the shelves like Ipods. The computing market is inevitibly moving toward portability, as proven by laptop sales, and palms are cheaper than Pocket P.C.s.The only major factor is if Apple starts making P.D.A.s then everthing will change. Surprizingly I use windows not Mac.In today's world people prefer simplicy. And only Palm offers simplicy
