T-Mobile News, the carrier's Web site for employees and dealers, has an article up that confirms the problem we reported on last week, reports Pinstack member yensid. With this bug the new BlackBerry 8320 loses the ability to connect to Wi-Fi for phone calls if you do a full device switch with Research In Motion's BlakBerry Desktop Manager. Essentially, what the article says the problem is a result of the Key Stores on the older BlackBerrys people are upgrading from to the 8320. Key Stores play and important part in the signature validation of security certificates My source at T-Mobile says the operator’s employees are being told to direct customers to a Web site where they can download certificates to place on the 8320 to fix the problem. Keep in mind this process takes longer than a simple wipe using the security settings followed by the advanced restore listed below. Either way, its nice to see T-Mobile acknowledging the problem so quickly and passing out additional information to customers.
