iambic's Agendus, one of the = most popular personal information managers (PIM) for the Palm OS, is now available for Pocket PCs. With many users of the formally dominant wireless Palm platform making the move to Windows Mobile, in addition to Palm, Inc. now in the Microsoft-based Treo business, the developer the time for a Windows Mobile version has come. Agendus 1.0 for Windows Mobile offers much of the contacts, calendar, tasks, tools, wireless, and data/sync functionality (in addition to category colors, pictures, icons, and custom edit dialogs) that has made the Palm OS edition so popular. As with the current Palm platform version, the Windows Mobile version is available in Standard and Professional editions. Professional adds over-the-air support, plus a couple of other features.
Initially, Agendus is available only for Pocket PCs, but a Smartphone version will arrive at a later date; iambic told PDAStreet it would launch the public beta for Agendus for Windows Mobile Smartphones in two to three weeks. The Standard edition sells for $19.95 and Professional $24.95.
According to iambic, over the next few days a number of cross platform and transition offers will be made available for users coming to Windows Mobile from the Palm OS and Symbian world, as well as competitive upgrades for users coming from other PIM solutions. iambic explained to PDAStreet it is still in the process of shaping these deals up. However, in general, they'll consist of 30 - 40 percent discounts available for users transitioning from Palm OS and other platforms, as well as coming from other PIM solutions.
