If you're thinking of swimming with your mobile phone, Fujitsu has a new model that could work: The F-01A phone can survive in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.

The F-01A feature's AuthenTec's TouchStone waterproof packaging, TruePrint fingerprint technology and TrueNav navigational controls.

According to AuthenTec, moisture is a leading cause of cell phone returns. AuthenTec says biometric fingerprint technology is particularly susceptible to wear and tear, so combining fingerprint and waterproof capabilities is a noteworthy feat.

More than 9 million cell phones include an AuthenTec biometric security sensor. The F-01A is the seventeenth from Fujitsu to recognize fingerprints through AuthenTec technology.

The F-01A is based on a Symbian operating system and features a 3.5-inch widescreen VGA touchscreen display, 5.2 megapixel camera with Autofocus, built-in GPS using Mobile Google Maps with Street View, e-Wallet mobile payment capability, and a 1Seg mobile TV tuner.

The Japanese wireless provider NTT Docomo will carry the F-01A phone.
